Learn to Kayak Fish

September 24, 2019 - 6:00 pm

Indianapolis Art Center

A White River Festival Event

Participants will learn to safely and successfully fish from a kayak. The workshop will begin with an overview of basic rules and regulations. Participants will try shoreline fishing to ensure they are comfortable casting lures using a spinning rod. The workshop will then move to kayaks and participants will translate their shoreline skills into on-the-water skills.

All fishing equipment will be provided.

Two hours kayaking/canoeing experience and/or completion of a basic kayak class is required. Participants must be able to swim. Participants 18 and older must have a fishing license, which must be purchased in advance online (if you don’t already have one) at on.IN.gov/inhuntfish or a local retailer. Workshop is free, but pre-registration is required.

This free workshop is sponsored by the Indiana DNR Division of Fish & Wildlife.

Workshop Location:
Canoe launch behind Indianapolis Art Center at 820 E 67th St., just east of N. College Ave.
