Stormwater Manager

The negative impacts of stormwater need to be managed regionally – we’re here to help.

As our landscapes urbanize, stormwater impacts increase and subsequently the quality of our streams decrease.  As a stormwater manager you are in a unique position to help!  Staying up-to-date on current regulations and current design practices and products will insure you can protect our local water quality.  Sharing resources and creating partnerships is the solution to challenges facing the White River basin.  Your engagement in local and regional initiatives will lead trends within your communities and across other disciplines and departments.  Check out some of the resources here and help us grow.

The Alliance’s regional MS4 program is designed to help MS4 entities meet their MCM 1 and MCM 2 requirements

The program works by each MS4 pooling funds into a common kitty and working together to deliver a diverse education program that meets the needs of targeted outreach. Fees to participate in the program are based upon the population of the MS4 or the combined population of co-permitted MS4s. The program has received high praise and recognition from the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) for the quality of its product and the thoroughness of its reporting. The 2013 program has a budget of more than $80,000 and involves 12 partnering MS4s. Our current membership and participating MS4s work as a team to accomplish shared goals and meet and exceed regulatory expectations, including our nationally-recognized, fast-growing Clear Choices Clean Water public education and involvement campaign and its associated mass-media promotions. Common messages across municipal lines are uniting our region and raising the collective awareness of stormwater impacts.
